As a result, the UK government recently convened consultations around adapting the national plastic waste management strategy in light of curtailed overseas plastic recycling. In this work, we consider the potential role that chemical recycling, such as gasification and pyrolysis, may have to play in the context of plastic waste valorization, and assess the policies and market conditions that would be required to make chemical recycling a feasible means by which to manage difficult to recycle plastic waste in the UK. date: 2019-10-01 date_type: published official_url: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.rcrx.2019.100011 oa_status: green full_text_type: pub language: eng primo: open primo_central: open_green article_type_text: Short Survey verified: verified_manual elements_id: 1728262 doi: 10.1016/j.rcrx.2019.100011 lyricists_name: Medda, Francesca lyricists_id: FMEDD49 actors_name: Flynn, Bernadette actors_id: BFFLY94 actors_role: owner full_text_status: public publication: Resources, Conservation and Recycling: X volume: 3 article_number: 100011 citation: Partridge, C; Medda, F; (2019) Opportunities for chemical recycling to benefit from waste policy changes in the United Kingdom.
