?url_ver=Z39.88-2004&rft_val_fmt=info%3Aofi%2Ffmt%3Akev%3Amtx%3Adc&rft.title=Implementation+of+Image+Reconstruction+for+GE+SIGNA+PET%2FMR+PET+Data+in+the+STIR+Library&rft.creator=Wadhwa%2C+P&rft.creator=Thielemans%2C+K&rft.creator=Efthimiou%2C+N&rft.creator=Bertolli%2C+O&rft.creator=Emond%2C+E&rft.creator=Thomas%2C+BA&rft.creator=Tohme%2C+M&rft.creator=Wangerin%2C+KA&rft.creator=Delso%2C+G&rft.creator=Hallett%2C+W&rft.creator=Gunn%2C+RN&rft.creator=Buckley%2C+D&rft.creator=Tsoumpas%2C+C&rft.description=Software+for+Tomographic+Image+Reconstruction+(STIR%3A+http%3A%2F%2Fstir.sf.net)+is+an+open+source+C%2B%2B+library+available+for+reconstruction+of+emission+tomography+data.+This+work+aims+at+the+incorporation+of+the+GE+SIGNA+PET%2FMR+scanner+in+STIR+and+enables+PET+image+reconstruction+with+data+corrections.+The+data+extracted+from+the+scanner+after+an+acquisition+includes+a+list+of+raw+data+files+(emission%2C+normalisation%2C+geometric+and+well+counter+calibration+(wcc)+factors)%2C+magnetic+resonance+attenuation+correction+(MRAC)+images+and+the+scanner-based+reconstructions.+The+listmode+(LM)+file+stores+a+list+of+'prompt'+events+and+the+singles+per+crystal+per+second.+MRAC+images+from+the+scanner+are+used+for+attenuation+correction.+The+modifications+to+STIR+that+allow+accurate+histogramming+of+this+LM+data+in+the+same+sinogram+organisation+as+the+scanner+are+also+described.+This+allows+reconstruction+of+acquisition+data+with+all+data+corrections+using+STIR%2C+and+independent+of+any+software+supplied+by+the+manufacturer.+The+implementations+were+validated+by+comparing+the+histogrammed+data%2C+data+corrections+and+final+reconstruction+using+the+ordered+subset+expectation+maximisation+(OSEM)+algorithm+with+the+equivalents+from+the+GE-toolbox%2C+supplied+by+the+manufacturer+for+the+scanner.+There+is+no+difference+in+the+histogrammed+counts+whereas+an+overall+relative+difference+of+6.7+%C3%97+10+-8+%25+and+from+0.01%25+to+0.86%25+is+seen+in+the+normalisation+and+randoms+correction+sinograms+respectively.+The+STIR+reconstructed+images+have+similar+resolution+and+quantification+but+have+some+residual+differences+due+to+wcc+factors%2C+decay+and+deadtime+corrections%2C+as+well+as+the+offset+between+PET+and+MR+gantries+that+will+be+addressed+in+future+work.+This+work+will+enable+the+use+of+all+current+and+future+STIR+algorithms%2C+including+penalized+image+reconstruction%2C+motion+correction+and+direct+parametric+image+estimation%2C+on+data+from+GE+SIGNA+PET%2FMR+scanners.&rft.publisher=IEEE&rft.date=2019-09-05&rft.type=Proceedings+paper&rft.language=eng&rft.source=+++++In%3A++2018+IEEE+Nuclear+Science+Symposium+and+Medical+Imaging+Conference+Proceedings+(NSS%2FMIC).++++IEEE%3A+Sydney%2C+Australia.+(2019)+++++&rft.format=text&rft.identifier=https%3A%2F%2Fdiscovery.ucl.ac.uk%2Fid%2Feprint%2F10087274%2F1%2FIEEE_Conference_Article-MIC_2018-Palak.pdf&rft.identifier=https%3A%2F%2Fdiscovery.ucl.ac.uk%2Fid%2Feprint%2F10087274%2F&rft.rights=open
