abstract: El presente artículo presenta un análisis exploratorio sobre la relación entre el precio de la vivienda y el aumento en la cantidad de campamentos en Chile. Retomando el enfoque del derecho a la ciudad propuesto por Henri Lefebvre, el artículo utiliza datos oficiales para conceptualizar los obstáculos que un alto costo de vida urbana significa para hacer realidad el anhelo de una ciudad democrática para todos. A su vez, se pone en valor el surgimiento de campamentos como un proceso de resistencia y autoproducción que se vincula con los principios elementales planteados en el texto original del derecho a la ciudad. Se busca contribuir con la agenda del derecho a la ciudad en el contexto propiamente neoliberal de las ciudades chilenas, donde la vida urbana tiene un costo que pocos pueden pagar, lo cual se ve reflejado en el espacio. / This article offers an exploratory analysis about the relationship between the price of housing and an increase in the number of urban slums in Chile. Based on Henri Lefebvre's right to the city idea, the article draws on official data to conceptualize the obstacles posed by the high costs of urban life to materialize the desire of a democratic city for all. At the same time, it highlights the expansion of urban slums as a resistance and self-production process linked with the basic principles sustained in the original right to the city text. The aim is to inform the right to the city agenda in the actual neoliberal context of Chilean cities, where urban life has a cost that few can pay and which is clearly reflected in space.
