title: The role of research in institutional transformation
ispublished: pub
divisions: B14
keywords: Higher education institution , ICT and learning , Learning and teaching in further/higher education
note: This chapter looks at the relationship between e-learning research and e-learning practice, it is based partly on the Pedagogic Research into Embedded E-Learning project at the IOE (Higher Education Academy/JISC funded), and partly on the ongoing work on the establishment of the HEA EvidenceNet. It forms a part of a book – ‘Transforming Higher Education through Technology-Enhanced Learning’ - which reports on four years of HEA/JISC funded activity in the area of embedding e-learning in HE (involving some 77 HEIs working in over 40 projects), and reflects on those processes, putting them within a wider international context.
