In practical applications of image recognition it is often the case that the input unknown pattern is a noisy version of one known by the recognition system. Therefore, it is important to design the recognition system taking into account the different types of noise which are present in the input image and in the system itself. This paper discusses two types of noise: random time dependent noise and fixed time independent noise.
