Abstract
Three zinc carboxylate complexes, [(C6F5Zn)(4)-Zn(Ar-1)6]center dot 1.5 toluene, [(C6F5Zn)(4)Zn(Ar-2)(6)]center dot 2toluene, and [(Ar-3)(6)Zn-4(mu(4)-O)]center dot MeCN (where Ar-1 = 2-chlorobenzoic acid (1), Ar-2 = 2,4,6-trimethylbenzoic acid (2), and Ar-3 = 3-dimethylaminobenzoic acid (3)), have been prepared from the reaction of (C6F5)(2)Zn center dot toluene and the corresponding functionalized benzoic acid. Complexes 1-3 were structurally characterized and screened for hydrogen absorption (uptake <0.3 wt %).
