Abstract

The title compound 1, obtained from the reaction of [Os3(CO)11(CH3CN)] with (CF3)2P-N=PPh3, has been characterized by spectroscopic and X-ray structural analyses. The osmium atoms form an approximate isosceles triangle with an equatorial site being taken up by the diphosphazene ligand. The P-N-P moiety is nearly linear and the two P-N bonds are equivalent.
