Abstract

The effects of mildly non-random particle ensembles on the high-field Mossbauer spectra of goethite were measured. The effects are greater at higher fields. A method of accounting for the preferred orientation was devised, in which the orientation distribution was approximated by an oblate ellipsoid of revolution.
