Abstract

The least squares analysis of as-built components either to determine their size and shape or their correspondence to initial design, requires the solution of non-linear equations. This paper reviews the problems associated with fitting observed data to cylindrical shapes and compared solutions with simulated and real data. The problems associated with partial data sets is explained, as well as the effects of using data of varying precision. -from Authors
