Abstract

Short discussion item on the publication of a report about the impacts of reducing roadspace for cars. The key findings of the report were that the installation of bus lanes, cycle lanes and pedestrianisation schemes have rarely caused as many problems as expected. Moreover, in some circumstances, a proportion of the traffic which used to use the affectee road has effectively disappeared from the traffic network studied
