Abstract
This report by the Accidental Injury Task Force offers a practical way forward to cross-Government action which would have the greatest impact in preventing injury. It suggests that for relatively modest investment good progress can be made quickly towards the achievement of the 2010 target delivered in the 1999 White Paper Saving Lives: Our Healthier Nation. The benefits, in terms of deaths and illness which will be averted, will be immediate and the gains to society very great.
