Abstract

We present a case of fibrous dysplasia of the sphenoid bone complicated by visual loss and optic disc swelling. The occurrence of visual loss and optic disc swelling led to decompressive surgical treatment of the fibrous dysplasia. Fibrous dysplasia can be associated with optic disc oedema, but the mechanism for this has not been established.
