Book description: Four papers, plus discussions and comments, presented at a seminar held at the University of Kent at Canterbury in November 1987, explore the meaning of monetarism, the differing forms it has taken in practice, its political appeal and its current standing with the object of examining the ways monetarism is related to Keynes's views on money. Paul Davidson discusses Keynes and money. Tim Congdon provides a comparison of British and American monetarism. David Howell examines Keynesianism, monetarism, and the politicians. Charles Goodhart discusses Keynes and monetarism. Hill is Lecturer in Economics at the University of Kent at Canterbury. Name, author, and subject indexes.
