Abstract

The development of methodology to construct polyurethanes of precise structure is described, A linker, 4-hydroxymethylphenol, is attached to the Merrifield resin and monomers OCN-M(x)-OTBDPS (where M(x) = aryl or diarylmethane core; TBDPS = Bu'Ph(2)Si) are coupled sequentially via a dibutyltin dilaurate catalysed process, At each stage, chain cleavage and product distribution analysis allows optimisation of oligomer synthesis.
