Abstract

The first part of this paper reflects on and discusses the concept of scientific enquiry in primary schools in England and Wales, including possible barriers to the provision of the primary science curriculum via enquiry. The second part of this paper, which will be published in Issue 14 of the JES, will report and critically reflect upon how schools can deliver a high-quality primary science curriculum via enquiry to engage children in science education and promote a life-long passion for learning science.
