Abstract

The Understanding Participation rates in post-16 Mathematics And Physics (UPMAP) Project examines why some students continue to study mathematics or physics once these subjects are optional whereas other students do not. IOE Research Briefings are short descriptions of significant research findings, based on the wide range of projects carried out by IOE researchers.
