Abstract

Recently proposed Architecture on Demand (AoD) node shows considerable flexibility benefits against traditional ROADMs. We study the power consumption of AoD including sub-wavelength time switching functionality. Results show that AoD can bring energy savings at node level. © 2012 OSA.
