Abstract

A novel metro network architecture for co-existing Fixed-Grid and Flex-Grid networks is proposed. It delivers adaptive resource allocation in time and frequency dimensions for Fixed-Grid sub-wavelength, wavelength, waveband and Flex-Grid super-channel services over AoD optical nodes. Fixed and Flex Grid sharing spectrum show improved performance. © 2012 Optical Society of America.
