| Additional information: | This paper presents a structured literature review of the fifty-eight published controlled evaluations and studies in developing countries (that were up to date (1998-1008), methodologically sound and offerred a representative aspect of a range of different interventions) in order to provide a rigorous analysis of available evidence for nutrition programming. It discusses key issues and challenges to consider when designing, implementing and assessing nutrition programmes and makes suggestions for further research and policy development. It makes a significant and original contribution to the literature by focusing on how to address the underlying and basic causes of child undernutrition. |
