Abstract

This dataset consists of transcripts from a qualitative study investigating barriers and facilitators to accessing services when people from African and Caribbean origins first notice memory problems. Individuals selected from community groups and by snowballing were invited to take part in a qualitative focus group or individual interview. Focus groups used a case vignette about an elderly African or Caribbean lady with significant memory problems and questions to stimulate open discussions of how participants would help a relative with similar problems, what would encourage them to seek professional help and from where.
