Abstract

This article offers an approach to the finds from the tomb of Les Ferreres de Calaceite conserved in the Musée des Antiquités Nationales in Saint-Germain-en-Laye. These finds were previously kept in the Musée du Louvre, where they arrived from Spain in 1906, along with the famous offering-stand from the same tomb. This latter piece returned to Spain in 1941 as part of an exchange of archaeological objects and works of art and is now in the Museo Arqueológico Nacional. The remaining bronze finds stayed in France. They consist of fragments of embossed plate belonging to a panoply of defensive elements, the remains of a simpulum and several fragments of an Etruscan vessel. These objects allow the tomb to be dated to the mid-6th century BC.
