Abstract
We show the significant impact of the longitudinal electric field component and full tensor susceptibility on the effective nonlinear parameter in subwavelength silicon nanowire waveguides. Inclusion of these effects is necessary for satisfactory wire modeling. (C)2010 Optical Society of America
