Abstract

A technique for assessing design robustness to traffic uncertainty is presented, based on randomly created scenarios which vary around a fixed traffic prediction. Probability distribution functions are determined empirically through analysing hundreds of scenarios. A description of the algorithms used is given, and some sample results shown, including how the probability of carrying traffic varies with total traffic volume for different traffic distribution forecast accuracies.
