Abstract

In 1992, the Gemini project set up the HROS Instrument Working Group. In parallel, the UK Gemini office commissioned the Optical Science Laboratory at University College London to conduct preliminary design studies and consider possible options for the HROS concept. At present, HROS has reached a critical phase in its development. Many of the optical components have been purchased and deliveries are expected soon.
