Quasi-phase-matched four-wave-mixing seeded by modulation instability in slab-modulated silicon nanowires.
We demonstrate how quasi-phase-matching via slab-modulation can be used in conjunction with modulation-instability to both broaden the modulation-instability sideband and seed additional enhanced sidebands for efficient four-wave-mixing. Enhanced sidebands exceeding 30 dB are shown. © OSA 2012.
