AFM paramagnons in doped CuO2 layers and superconducting pairing.
Physica C: Superconductivity and its applications
A pairing mechanism between holes in the hybridized 2p-oxygen orbitals in the CuO2 planes is presented. The pairing arises from the exchange of virtual antiferromagnetic fluctuations of the Cu-spins, which are strongly modified by the presence of the holes, and suppressed at moderately high holes concentration. The numerical solution of the gap equation is discussed, showing that the hole concentration for which the antiferromagnetism is destroyed roughly coincides with that for which no superconducting transition occurs any more. © 1991.
