Abstract

Radioactive glucose injected into the haemolymph was incorporated principally into chitin; very little glucose was respired. The rate of disappearance of radioactive glucose and the radioactivity detected in the intermediates of glycolysis indicate that utilization of glucose was rate-limited at the stages of glucose phosphorylation and fructose-6-phosphate phosphorylation. © 1969.
