Miodownik, M; (2003) The blossoming of sciart. Materials Today , 6 (2) 13-. 10.1016/S1369-7021(03)00214-1. Gold open access

Abstract

Various aspects of the portrait of the genetic scientist Sir John Sulston commissioned in National Portrait Gallery in London were discussed. The work was found to be an image of transparent spot suspended under glass in a wide and shining stainless steel frame. It is observed that the portrait was a part of a genre called 'sciart', a culture movement.
