Abstract
This volume presents a documentation of the endangered Neo-Aramaic dialect spoken by the Christians of Haṣṣan in South-East Turkey. The grammatical description is based on fieldwork conducted amongst the Haṣṣan community in Belgium. The dialectal features are discussed in relationship to other North Eastern Neo-Aramaic dialects, the earlier forms of Aramaic, as well as the surrounding (non-)Semitic languages. The study concludes with several folktales that are presented in transcription with an annotated translation.
