Abstract

Graph overlay method is used in route alignment noise impact assessment to provide a basis for route alignment optimal selection. In this process, Geographic information system with its powerful function of handling attributes and spatial analysis is adopted. Through spatial analysis and calculation, each route alignment noise impact grade is estimated. By means of graph overlay method, noise sensitivity degree of the surroundings and noise impact extent distribution are taken into account. With the combination of both methods, noise impact on the surroundings caused by the route alignment is presented fully and directly.
