Abstract

Uses a discrete-zone system, a significant shift from the 'continuous space' scenario of Weber, to build a spatial interaction model. Whilst relatively simple, the model represents a new approach which is rich in potential. Numerical experiments for an idealised four-sector economy provide insights into the nature of the model and yield generally plausible results. -A.F.Pitty
