Abstract

The integration architectures of terrain referenced navigation with INS and GPS were reviewed in order to evaluate the optimized performance combination. For the study, a radalt based terrain contour navigation (TCN) was selected because a relatively simple simulation can be used. A batch processing TCN algorithm was used in conjunction with a centralized integration filter. It was shown, where TCN is combined with INS and GPS, optimum performance is obtained by weighting the TCN and GPS measurements equally in the integration filter.
