Low phase noise optical phase-lock loops using combined injection locking and phase-locking.

A new structure for optical phase-lock loops has been proposed. Described is the optical injection phase-lock loop (OFPLL), which allows low phase error variance to be achieved in loops having significant propagation delay and offers superior performance to either optical injection locking (IL) or phase locking systems used individually.
