Abstract
We experimentally demonstrated 11.1Gb/s QAM-16 direct-detection OFDM transmission over 1600km of uncompensated standard fiber using 0-5.55GHz band. We also investigated the effect of self-phase modulation and observed penalties comparable to systems using QPSK-OFDM. (C)2009 Optical Society of America
