Abstract
We present here the crystal structure of trans-[RuCl2(C5H5N)(4)], which exhibits notably shorter M-N and M-Cl bond lengths, and hence reduced unit-cell dimensions, when compared with the previously reported isomorphous compounds of the first transition series, [MCl(2)(C5H5N)(4)] (M = Fe, Co, Ni).
