Abstract

Several forms of muscular dystrophy are associated with mutations in genes that regulate glycosylation of alpha-dystroglycan. Forced overexpression of one of these genes, LARGE, in mice overcomes the defective glycosylation present in this group of disorders (pages 696-703).
