Abstract

Measurements are presented of the mass of the fuel film accumulating in the inlet ports of a gasoline-injected spark-ignition (SI) engine in various operating conditions. The mass of the film was calculated from measurements of the air:fuel ratio in the cylinders, by means of a fast flame-ionisation detector (FID).
