Abstract

In 2009 a project was set up by the Maritime Access Division of the Flemish Community to develop a numerical modelling software that was tailored to the specific needs of the division, focusing on the hydrodynamic and morphologic challenges during the development of harbour extension projects, alternative dredging- and disposal strategies and sediment influx reducing measures for the Flemish North Sea Ports. The software is developed as open source software; build on the existing Coherens code. The paper gives an overview of the general code and setup of the software, and will explore in further detail case studies with special attention to dredging applications. © 2013 WODA.
