| Additional information: | This paper reports on the use and potentials of Learning Platform (LP) technologies for organizing learning in English primary and secondary schools. It is based on a qualitative research using 12 case studies of ‘early adopting’ English primary and secondary schools involving school visits, classroom observation, interviews with senior managers, teachers, parents and students. It highlights the potential of LPs to enhance student access to a broad range of learning resources, to increase opportunities for independent and personalised learning, to support opportunities for collaborative learning and to improve student processes of reflecting on and assessing their learning. It is significant for concludes by drawing out some of the pedagogic implications from these findings and a brief summary of the emerging conditions associated with the effective use of LPs to support and organize learning.
